Can your laptop’s memory come out?
Only memory in a slot can be sold on its own. Many thin laptops, and every Apple silicon MacBook, have LPDDR memory soldered to the board, which can’t be removed. Open the bottom panel, or check the laptop’s service manual: a SODIMM is a small stick held in a slot by two clips. If yours is soldered, you can still sell the whole machine or ask for a custom quote.
Which SODIMM do you have?
- DDR5 SODIMM — 262 pins, labelled PC5, as in “PC5-44800” or “PC5-5600B”.
- DDR4 SODIMM — 260 pins, labelled PC4, as in “PC4-3200AA-SA2”.
- DDR3 SODIMM — 204 pins, labelled PC3 or PC3L, as in “PC3L-12800S”.
