Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to control or delete your information. We don’t sell your data for money, and you can opt out of advertising use in one click.

1. Who we are

RebootSemi is operated by RebootSemi LLC, a Texas limited liability company, 28111 S Firethorne Rd, Suite 102, Katy, TX 77494. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. “We”, “us” and “RebootSemi” mean RebootSemi LLC.

2. Who this applies to

This policy applies to anyone who visits rebootsemi.com, creates an account, requests a quote, completes a trade-in, or contacts us. “Personal information” means information that identifies you or could reasonably be linked to you.

3. Information we collect

What you give us:

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number, and the address you ship from.
  • Payout details: your PayPal email, Zelle email or phone, USDC wallet address and network, or mailing address for a check.
  • Trade-in details: the items, conditions and quantities you select, and notes you add.
  • Account details: your sign-in email and password (stored only as a secure hash), or your name and email from Google if you sign in with Google.
  • Messages: what you send through the contact, custom quote and bulk quote forms, and emails you send us, including replies to our emails.

What we collect automatically: the pages you visit, how you arrived, your browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and your IP address itself (in our hosting provider’s logs). See Cookies and analytics.

What others tell us: shipping carriers send tracking updates, payment providers confirm payouts, and our anti-bot service tells us whether a form submission looks automated.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, biometric data, or precise GPS location, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data.

4. How we use it

  • Process your trade-in: shipping labels, inspection, revised offers and payouts.
  • Communicate with you: confirmations, status updates, and replies to your messages.
  • Run your account: sign-in, order history and payout details.
  • Prevent fraud and the sale of stolen goods, and keep the site secure.
  • Understand how the site is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it.
  • Meet legal obligations such as tax records and valid legal requests.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with companies that help us run the service, and only what each needs:

  • Hosting, database and sign-in: the cloud providers that run the website, store its data and handle account sign-in.
  • Email delivery: the service that sends our emails and receives replies to them.
  • Shipping: our shipping-label service, USPS and UPS create and carry your shipping labels.
  • Payouts: PayPal, Zelle and our bank; for USDC, the public blockchain you choose records the receiving wallet address.
  • Analytics and sign-in: Google (Google Analytics, and Google sign-in if you use it).
  • Advertising: Google (Google Ads), Meta (the Meta Pixel, for Facebook and Instagram ads) and TikTok (the TikTok Pixel), to measure which of our ads lead to trade-ins and to show our ads to people who have visited the site. See section 6 to opt out.
  • Security: an anti-bot service checks that sign-in, sign-up, password-reset and checkout forms are used by people, not bots.

We also disclose information when required by law or a valid legal request, to protect against fraud or theft, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy continues to apply). We may publish aggregated, de-identified statistics that cannot be linked back to you.

6. Advertising and your choices

We do not sell personal information for money and we do not give your name, email, address or order details to advertisers, data brokers or marketing networks.

We do use Google Ads, the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) and the TikTok Pixel. When you visit the site, their cookies and scripts record that visit and the pages you looked at (for example, a graphics card’s price page), and whether you went on to place a trade-in and its value. We use this to measure which ads work and to show our ads to people who have visited the site before (retargeting). Under some US state laws, including California’s, this counts as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and as targeted advertising under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and similar laws.

When you place a trade-in, our server also tells Meta directly (Meta’s Conversions API), so the order is counted even if a browser extension blocks the pixel. That message carries the order’s value, your IP address, your browser type and Meta’s cookie IDs for your browser. It does not include your name, email, phone number or address.

To opt out, use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. Either way the site stops loading Google Ads and the Meta and TikTok pixels in that browser, and our server stops telling Meta about your orders. You can also email privacy@rebootsemi.com. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

7. Cookies and analytics

Essential cookies and browser storage keep you signed in and remember your cart. We use Google Analytics to measure how visitors use the site — pages viewed, how people arrived, device type and approximate location — and our own first-party analytics to see how quotes turn into orders. We also use Google Ads cookies and the Meta and TikTok pixels to measure our ads and to show them to past visitors, as described in section 6. Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie and how to turn analytics and advertising off.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no agreed standard for how websites should respond to it, so our site does not change what it does when it receives one. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC): a browser that sends it is treated as opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information and its use for targeted advertising: the site does not load Google Ads or the Meta or TikTok pixels in that browser. Apart from Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta and TikTok pixels, as described above, we do not allow other companies to collect information about your activity on our site.

8. Emails

We send emails about your quotes, orders and payouts, and replies to messages you send us. We do not send marketing emails; if that changes, every marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe. When you reply to one of our emails, your reply and its contents are stored with the conversation so our team can answer it.

9. How we protect it

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), passwords are stored only as secure hashes, data is encrypted at rest by our database provider, and access inside the company is limited by role. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.

10. How long we keep it

  • Trade-in and payout records: as long as tax, accounting and anti-fraud laws require (typically 7 years).
  • Account data: until you delete your account, except records we must keep as above.
  • Messages and email conversations: as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.
  • Inspection photos and notes: 90 days after payout, unless there is an open dispute.
  • Google Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.
  • Google Ads and Meta Pixel cookies on our site: up to 90 days; TikTok Pixel cookies: up to 13 months. Google, Meta and TikTok keep advertising data under their own retention policies.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live — including under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act — you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, get a portable copy, and opt out of its sale or sharing, its use for targeted advertising, or profiling. We don’t sell personal information for money or use it for profiling; to opt out of advertising use, see section 6.

To make a request, email privacy@rebootsemi.com from the address on your account or order, or write to us at the address below. We may need to confirm your identity first. We respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying with “Appeal” in the subject line; we will answer within 60 days. If you are not satisfied with the result, Texas residents can contact the Texas Attorney General.

12. Where your data is processed

We are based in the United States and our service providers process data in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information is transferred to and handled in the United States.

13. Children

RebootSemi is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We post changes here with a new “last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will tell you by email or on the site before it applies.
